It’s been a long time since I visited my beloved F85/86 forums, I’ve been thinking about grabbing another as a daily and I’ve been trying to stay away HOWEVER this thread doesn’t help my case much 1 bit..😂

I’ll just keep this spot resevered just in case..😎

Salute Cbozz great job..🫡

those control arms are thicker than OEM ones so the bracket must be altered.

Ok finally about to order the rear set. I got a good set of front calipers tonight and let me know if you can make a caliper bracket for me there… per the PM. Also, can I get the blue oem color with this grey sticker color instead? Also buying steel braided lines and do I buy them for x5m f85? With my setup calipers up fronts and your rears for my F15 all to have upgraded lines. Also, your caliper comes w pads and only got to reach out to porter for replacements correct? Thanks, beautiful setup and can’t wait!!!

To assure that I don’t sidetrack the thread, great if you can send me a PM with payment instructions for your rear caliper setup and I will get it going, with or without the front Bracket obviously ok. Also, let’s do the typical performance blue color please and feel free to do no sticker and I will add to match. Thank you

Excited, getting close on my conversion. Got all parts now with new front and rear discs. All calipers at shop getting painted, and I think I go for a burnt copper/gold variant. I will get samples but should be great. Thanks for great rears Chris and all the rest of the parts you provided.

Very cool, looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Also, for anyone that's custom colored their calipers, what are the general thoughts on paint vs. powdercoat?? Given the temps that the calipers could see under hard braking, I don't imagine a powdercoat oven (400*F) would be an issue, even for a fully assembled caliper...

For those of you that have done it, did they fully disassemble the calipers to coat them or just mask off any coat them assembled?

Appreciate the info!

Yeah of course that's the best way to go... Did you reassemble using existing seals or all new? What's the go to source for all new seals?

I haven't reassembled yet, but have all the parts (all new). I'd never reuse seals. Rock Auto has most rebuild kits.

Awesome, good to know. In regards to this rear caliper kit, I assume you needed the caliper model number to source the proper rebuild kit..? Do you have that info handy?
