Can you bypass brake sensor cable by twisting wires together?

I’m guessing it has a resistance value greater than a short.

Why would a person want to do that?

i dont see why it wouldn't work. several cars do this when switching to BBKs with no issues. you are merely completing the circuit like a pad would until the wire is worn thru.

By twisting together you mean completing the circuit?

If you do that, you will not be able to reset the brake replacement warning in the dash.

You can also just zip tie the sensor out of the way, have done that on my 1 series for the track.

Why wouldn't I be able to reset it?

As far as the car knows, I put it in a new cable.

Goodness. The circuit is completed when the plastic wears down and the probes inside
makes contact with the metal rotor. So by cutting this and twisting the wires together you would be telling the car you need new pads. Just install the cable and zip tie up out of the way.
