Not entirely sure off the top of my head. The same as an X5M.
Some incorrect info in my above post regarding standard options. Turns out the X5M is pretty loaded in Australia. Happy to report that I did a deal on a brand new Carbon Black / Mugello Red X5M today. As I said, they're pretty loaded but I added; Full merino leather Alcantara headliner Soft close doors Ventilated seats Rear sunblinds Only things left out of the car are rear seat entertainment, B&O and night vision. I just didn't see the point in these items and found a stock car sitting in customs. All goes well with the paperwork tomorrow I'll have it in 2 weeks. A little disappointed that I dropped the coin on the 599M wheels and M grill, as the car will be traded. Drove an X5M for the first time today also. Absolutely mind blowing. As quick as the M50d is, it feels like a luxury SUV in comparison. Very excited. |

lol, not yet. Am about to call to see if it's happening this weekend coming.
It should be as it arrived in the country over a week ago and has been released from bond a week back.

As for your 599M wheels, will you be interested in swapping my stock M sport 20" wheels? Last edited by Ninjaoz; 02-01-2016 at 05:09 AM.. |

Still waiting on confirmation - it's getting ridiculous. Doubt it will be this weekend now.
Also, my detailer can't fit me in until Monday week. I'm not keen on risking stone chips by driving for a week until it can be detailed/PPF fitted.

Yeah, it's a shame but the longer it takes the week the less inclined ill be to pick it up and risk damage lol.
Even though its on BMW Full Circle and it'll be traded in 5 years, I still want it to be immaculate.

Weird that I haven't seen this thread before, awesome looking M50d (didn't know you could get that outside of Europe).

New car hasn't arrived yet.
In the meantime here's a few photo's from the weekend after the stock wheels were put back on.

Something else that occurred to me on the weekend while washing my M50d was just how good a nano sealant like Gyeon is for keeping the car looking clean for long periods.
Admittedly I do store my car in a garage of a night, and also in a work carpark during the day, but I do 300-400km a week. Add to that a fair bit of random rain we've had recently and it surprised me just how good the Sapphire Black looked when I stepped out to wash it for the first time in 3 weeks. That said, I noticed a couple more stone chips which I've mentioned in other threads. It does make me wonder what the best approach is for the new X5M. Do I spend the money on having the full front + doors wrapped in XPEL, plus a nano sealant across the whole car?. Or do I forget the nano sealant (or apply later), and put all of the funds toward XPEL wrapping the entire car? I only ask this as I only sealed the paint on the M50d, and I do notice the odd scratch here and there and stone chip. And as much as the sealant works to keep the car nice and clean, it doesn't do anything for this 'damage' which seems unavoidable. All part and parcel of owning a dark car I suppose - no surprises there really. It does make me think about my colour choice of Carbon Black. I got to spend some time with a white X5M and X6M today and I must say, the flat white colour is striking. I don't think it quite has the presence of a dark car, at least while the chrome is still visible, but it did make me wonder about whether or not I would bother with the expense ($5k+) of applying PPF as well as a nano sealant to a white/light coloured car. My last car was an Audi SQ5 in Glacier White, much like Mineral White, and it looked clean most of the time and most importantly, I never noticed stone chips on that car - even when washing. It's not that it didn't have any, but they were really unnoticeable. With this in mind I asked my dealer to look at some other options which might be in stock and 2 came up. One in Donnington Grey/Mugello and Mineral White/Mugello. I don't think either will have the same impact as Carbon Black/Mugello necessarily, but it would mean putting that $5k which i've put aside to look after the Carbon Black paint, into an exhaust which will bring the V8 to life more. It's just food for thought but I thought i'd ask your opinions.

You are doing full circle right?
If so, I wouldn't bother with the Xpel. Why? because you'll be returning the keys in a few years and moving on to the next car... so effectively you're burning 5k and not going to see anything back. That's a lot of cash down the drain. After lease is done, you may have a few stone chips but who cares? the car is NOT yours and they're not going to give you a substantially better value at the end of the lease because you protected their car. If you like black go for it, but I'd stick with paint protection and spend the remaining cash on wheels or exhaust. At least you can remove that part and resell when the time comes. |

I am going with FC, however keeping the car for 5 years. That said, I typically keep them for 3 at the most, though I thought I might keep this longer.
The idea behind applying the PPF isn't to keep the car for more than 5 years, but to ensure it maintains its condition during those 5 years.

Yes I get that. I do feel that it's a lot of cash to spend on a car that's technically not mine.
5 years is not a very long time so unless you drive a lot on gravel roads it should stay in decent condition, even in black. |

My M50d has about 10 that I know of with 6500KM. I deliberately drive a good 2 car lengths if not more from the car ahead. Only 2-3 of them are on the front with the rest down the sides/flares.
I really don't want that happening on the M which is why I was considering swapping from the CB to DG or White where it would be less noticeable.
