PSA - Bimmercode/Bimmerlink

if you use Bimmercode, do yourself a favor and get an enet cable and adapter to use with your android/apple device. If you have been using wifi, like me, you will be so pleased with the increase in speed and efficiency to make changes. What used to take 10-15 minutes, takes a minute or two. Makes tinkering much more enjoyable!!!

I've been using that modBMW wifi adapter, was fairly quick. I initially tried the recommended MX Bluetooth and dear god was that slow.

OP, which WiFi adapter were you using? They do differ, especially if you were using an E-Series WiFi adapter.

I should correct my original post. I have a BLUETOOTH adapter, not Wi-Fi. I have the OBDLink MX+. So that’s my litmus test for comparison. Can’t speak to Wi-Fi!
