Bmw X5 rear fogs

Hello just installed the bmw x5 European fog light switch and coded it through BimmerCode, it was fairly easy to get the old switch assembly out and put the new one in also and also powder coated the rims.

Yup. Installed that on both the E70 & F15 in our family.

Rear fogs are incredibly effective in a country that does not use them - like us in the U.S.

I purchased the switch on ebay for 68 british pounds which equals to $91 usd, and i coded the switch through this forum which was fairly easy to do -
3064 > Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_output: > nsl_l
3064 > Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_output: > nsl_r

3068 > NSL_Verbaut: > verbaut- this is what i used to code it and it works on my 2015 Bmw X5 -Body Domain Controller and then expert mode

You are missing part of the coding. Ista + will show a hidden fault for incorrect light control module with only the coding you added above. You also need to find the option in 3069 with _NSL at the end of what you currently have and change it

3069 > LCE_BEL_LIN_VAR: add _NSL to the end of current configurations

anyone feel like doing a step by step bimmercode "how to" on this? i thought this mod/coding wasn't doable thru that app (expert mode). or maybe i was thinking of of the euro tails mod?

i would love to do rear fogs. we have heavy fog and overcast conditions in the fall/winter here.

I am not getting any errors on the dash when i coded it. These were the instructions to code it from a member on this forum, so i have no error on the dash and i used a v gate obd2 adaptor which was compatible through bimmercode.

Which is why I said there is a hidden code.

It's not affecting the initial functions of the rear fogs so i will leave it as is for now.

BimmerLink will show the fault code, and the correct switch variant can be coded in expert mode with BimmerCode.

Did you need the euro taillights for this conversion? Converted all my other cars but got hung up on this one since I thought you needed new rear lights.

I see your new LCM has the dial for manual leveling of the headlights... This is not used in the US, is there an LCM available without this dial? I've done this mod in a lot of my vehicles and would like to do same with my F15, but haven't chased down the proper LCM yet...

That’s fantastic, had the switch sitting for over a year in my garage. Ok I get it added then, and may do it all together as I got a full brake conversion and fuel filter planned out and both involves some coding/fuel pump cycling. Thanks for quick response.
