Looks like a beast!

Not sure who is driving during this but looks like you are apex'ing a little early and not using the brakes to the fullest! The F1 Driver is showing you the line!

Oh boy. I bet you might be surprised/embarrased if/when you find out the identify of the driver you critiqued.

I will say that the camera vehicle driver apparently didn't get any kind of memo about staying off the **Wack** AstroTurf that they have placed at the track out in several run off areas at COTA. ( I wish they would replace that crap!) and he sure didn't gain any time using it...

My only critique of the driver (other than the asphalt is quicker) is that the line in T16-17 carousel should be different. Absolutely no need to run onto the curbing in the entry part of the carousel there in 17 and that is where the driver lost the most time (aside from the AstroTurf mowing ). Definitely get onto the curbing as you are exiting T18, which the driver did do. The Driver was hauling though... definitely no slouch, being a few seconds back of Timo Glock.

You may be right. I am by no means the most experienced driver, just watching the F1 guys line as well as how far wide he is running off in order to get on the power and it didn't seem like he was going hard on the brakes to make the turn in point any better. I also have never touched that track.

But, the vehicle seems very quick. Acceleration seemed pretty inline with an M5 based on the way the speedo climbed. Now just need to find more of a reason to have a monstrously powered SUV.....

Actually, I'll be taking my X5 M to New Jersey Motorsports Park for one of their Member's Only track days. My BMW dealership has a membership there and will give me a free track day.

I saw an x5m at one of my local trackS (eagles canyon raceway) about two weeks ago. A fellow in the novice group was embarrassing several cars. A number of cars pulled off , it looked like so they wouldn't get passed by an SUV. The driver was keeping up with another novice driving an E92M3 and definitely made the e92 driver work to stay ahead.

I was very impressed with the way the x5m dealt with an undulating circuit that is the hardest track on brakes that I know ( of the 15 courses I have driven )

I've done that twice now. It is a good event but they don't let you drive fast, mostly around a small partof the track where you can't get faster than 50mph
