2015 X5 35d has arrived

So my 2015 X5 has arrived, I ordered it about 6 weeks ago and it arrived last week. I am not sure if I am going to take delivery or not yet as I may want to hold out for a 2016 instead. I also regret not ordering the LED headlights as its something I would like to have, not sure if its worth the $2500 they ask for here in Canada.

Anyways, here are a few pics for those who may be interested in this combo. It certainly looks nice, I wish it had the full leather dash/doors. But you can only order that if you are willing to deal with Ivory carpets which is a big no no for me.

Looks great! The combo looks really good as well. Always liked the black. Our buddy Fooit has the black and that's a hot looking car as well. Can't go wrong. Looks like you are at Parkview BMW. That is where we got ours. Dave G sold us ours.

But I can certainly relate to your concerns...
If you are leasing, then I wouldn't mind going with it...although I'm not sure about the leasing structure and how that would differ from 2015 vs. 2016... are there any differences financially speaking?
I'm financing, so getting a 2015 car was not an option for me in the month of December!

I "personally" would never go for LED's...well, let me put it this way, I would have gone for them, if it was a $400 tag difference....certainly not $2,500!

Did you hear any updates from the dealer on 2016 Diesel while you were there?

That's why I didn't order them myself originally, but than again..in a lease it becomes residualized so you only pay about $1200 of it over the 3 years, which works out to about $400 per year, so about $30 per month. Not terrible but not cheap still of course.

No update on the 16 as of yet..they say sometime in early 2016 production (Jan-Feb I guess?)

This car is also missing the 360 surround view cameras as there was a shortage of cameras apparently, so my premium package was $4400 instead of $4900 (discounted $500 because of the lack of the cameras). They called it Premium Package #2 instead. A bit of a let down as I like that feature.

so how does it work? are you able to reject acceptance of this car without any side effects?
I'm wondering if I could also reject the vehicle (35i) that is being built and supposedly delivered sometime soon?

Which dealer did you buy from?

Well chances are I will get another BMW, so my deposit will get moved to that car.

If I decide to walk away from BMW entirely and go with another brand, I may lose my deposit but I am not sure.

remind them your a BMW customer and there are plenty of BMWs to go to, so if they decide to hold on to your money for whatever reason, tell them that is fine BUT they should know they will lose a lot more in future business than only $1000 (assuming its only $1000 deposit you gave).

That right there is legitimate grounds for rejecting the car without losing any of your deposit. You ordered something and didn't get exactly that.

No, I was informed about this during my order process and I said okay as I had no choice.

no my trade-in value is with them!!! it is much more than that!
The only paper I officially signed with them though was the 2016 diesel.
the 35i was basically a no-choice go ahead nod.

the x5 looks great. i would tell them to throw in some free goodies like tint, weathertechs, and accessories and take it. my dash isnt leather and my dads x6 is....strange since both have black dakota. it doesnt seem to bother me either since its a family car.

Yes it is...standard on M sport as mentioned above

I'm confused! Yours should be the same lcd. Toggle between the different drive modes, sport, sport + eco and it should hanged colors and all

My mistake. It's the same. I forgot the gauges appear when you open / unlock the doors. Car looks really good. Tough decision. How long will give to make a decision...I guess until someone wants it.

50i is not worth it in my opinion, at that point get the M.

Didn't get the M because they want stupid money on a lease here in Canada. Approx $21-2200 a month. Hardly worth $1000 more a month vs a X5 diesel M Sport in my opinion.

Well they say it is under production and it should be here in a few weeks...so how vague is that info???!!!

Now I'm hesitating of accepting it or getting the diesel...
the diesel will certainly have a longer wait (January most optimistic...) I think it would be somewhere in Feb for delivery!!!
So I'm really not sure what to do...I've got about 50K sitting at the dealership as a result of my trade-in!!!!

I've traded in 2 BMW's that are going as a trade-in for the next...so I'm a bit locked with this dealer.

What a nightmare this is turning out to be...
tempted at points to just pull the plug right off...
