map update

Hi to all, I have a problem with my map update, I download the map from BMW Download Manager copy in flash memory stick but in car nothing work. Flash is SanDisk 64GB usb3.0 I do not know what to do can you help me.
The car is BMW X5F15 2014 40d.

I had the same issue. Make sure your USB stick was formatted in FAT32 before you copied the map files over to it.

Are you using a mac? If so you may need to kill off the hidden files that OS X creates in the root directory of the flash drive (usually .DS_Store and .Trash) since for some reason these often prevent the car from recognizing the drive as containing an update.

I recently updated my maps and this helped. This program has a 14 day trial and it worked for me with no problems.

"Mac creates hidden files onto the USB drive, which prevents the car from reading the USB drive. If that happens, please download the trial version of this software. This software will delete all the hidden file that causes the read error of the USB drive". The link is below:

hi,
Thanks for answers, i am not using mac I am on windows10 and try to delete those hidden files on my flash first than i will try again. Hopefully will work.
I will keep in touch.

On my 2014 35i I always use an NTFS formatted USB stick (Win 10), works every time, just updated to 2020-2 yesterday....files must be in the root directory, which files do you have? (Sorry for the crappy phone pic!).

I am pretty sure NTFS did not work for me, FAT32 or exFAT. Got mine updated using exFAT formatted drive.
