Carly rant

I bought the carly obd diagnostic connector a while ago. Used to be able to do basic code checks and whatnot. Now they want you to subscribe every year for $64. F THAT. Avoid.

Yeh, it is a bit of a rort. Bimmerlink and Bimmercode seem to do the same job for me. It's a one time fee for each and you can code multiple cars.

Yeah. Just ordered a obdlink adapter. And can use their app or the ones you mentioned.
The way carly has it setup now, you can't even reset or clear codes. And to get the codes, they email them to you later. And now the adapter I paid money for is useless because it only works for carly.

And they don't have a returns policy?

I bought it 3 years ago, figuring I could use it whenever I need to check codes on my bmw. Now I need to subscribe and pay them yearly, to use something I bought outright.

Why not learn to use Esys and ISTA D or ISTA +? Unfortunately for the consumer, subscription based services seem to be the direction that manufacturers are going in
