Ambient Lighting, Partial Disable

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if it's possible to disable the ambient lighting for layer 3,4. So basically disable the lighting in the footwells and door storage/water bottle compartments.

I would like just to have the layer 1 (the top strip around the dash), and maybe layer 2.

I did look through bimmercode, but I could only find ways to change the colours for the layers. There was no off button.

Change the RBG values to 000000. Or black.

The first color slot is programmable in the headunit menu. The rest of the color slots you need expert. Depending on your HU software version the coding is slightly different. The BimmerCode thread had dozens of posts explaining where to go and what to put in. It's pretty easy if your familiar with hexadecimal code which is learnable in about 2 min on YouTube.

So i found this guide online. The guy does a great intro on where to go in BimmerCode and the explanation on Ensembles and Layers.

The only difference i had was that my f85 had 10x Ensembles, where 10 looked liked it was the off option and 9 was by used blue/blue.

So, I followed the guide and just changed the Layer 3 settings as follows. This disabled the footwell and the door cupholder lights.

AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_9_LAYER_3_R = inaktiv
AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_9_LAYER_3_G = eisblau_G (0xFE) -> inaktiv
AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_9_LAYER_3_B = eisblau_B (0xEB) -> inaktiv

Just noticed something, this pre-set looks like it applies all the time. Whether the doors are open or not.

So is it possible to have the profile I set above when the doors are closed but have it on default when they are open.

So doors open, the footwells get lit up, doors close they turn off. Because at the moment with the default they stay on all the time, but now with the change they stay off all the time.
