Talking Picked up my 35d Luxury Line - Mineral White with Ivory and Black Dakota

Picked up my (wife's) 35d on Tuesday. Ordered it on February 28th, arrived at dealership March 21st!!! Ordered it with the following options:
  • Luxury Line
  • Mineral White Metallic
  • Ivory White and Black Dakota Leather
  • Fineline Oak Wood Trim
  • Cold Weather Package
  • Driver Assistance Plus
  • • Driver Assistance Package
  • • ACC Stop & Go + Active Driving Assistant
  • Lighting Package
  • Premium Package
  • 4-zone automatic climate control
  • Comfort Rear Seats
  • Multi-contour seats
  • Rear manual side window shades
  • Harman Kardon surround sound system
  • Rear-seat entertainment Professional
  • Space-saver spare

Very impressed with this car, it is such an improvement over our 2011. I had a 2 hour drive home from the dealership, so that gave me a chance to get familiar with all the car's features. The ACC Stop & Go is incredible. It totally takes the stress out of driving.

And I got a great deal from Christine Kick at Orange County BMW. $1000 over invoice minus the $500 Drive credit from February. The entire experience with Orange County BMW was very positive and hassle free. I would highly recommend giving Christine a call, if you are thinking of ordering a new X5.

Here are some pictures taken after the car arrived at the dealership and after we brought it home. Love the color. The Mineral White has a bit of a silver tint under certain lighting. Also we were on the fence on the Ivory with Black interior, but it looks spectacular with the Fineline oak trim.

Congratulations for the new car. I am going to order one next month and I thought I am the first one in this site to order white on white.

Configuration is just a mirror copy except I am adding a third row seat.

Did the dealer offer you any protection plan for the leather? I am planning to get ivory white leather.

Congratulations again and nice pics.

Karthik,
Thanks. The dealer did not offer me any protection plans for the leather. I had beige dakota leather in our last X5, so I am not concerned about the leather wearing. I plan on using Lexol cleaner and conditioner, on a regular basis, to keep it looking new.

JJPP,
Thank you.

I see all of your people location as different states and how come you bought at the same location? Did you drive from Orange County to your location?

If you buy the vehicle from a different state would there be any difference in taxes? also some dealers offer free programs if we do service with them? do you loose them as well?

I did pcd.. Not sure what free programs you are referring to.. I can take my car at any BMW service center I want and everything is free for 4 years

You pay taxes based on where it will be registered.

Most dealers will do free car washes if you bought the car there, though I've never actually taken them up on the offer and certainly haven't ever tried a dealer I didn't buy from.

BMW service is free for 4 years/50,000 miles. So no need for the discounted oil changes

PCD = performance center delivery. Picking up the car at the factory basically, with tours, driving school, etc. I've never done it, so I'll let those that have elaborate.

Highly recommend pcd. It's like Disneyland for adults.. even though the factory tour is close for few months, Its still worth it. You can buy from any dealer in the country if you do pcd..

Very nice build!! We are planning a mineral white build also, nice to see some positives about it. It's hard to find one at a dealer to compare it to plain white.

How much does the PCD cost? What location do we have to go to pick up the vehicle? How many people will be allowed? I am not sure if there is a thread already on PCD, but can you provide more details on this..looks like an interesting topic.

Google PCD and check bmwusa.com. There is tons of information on it. It doesn't cost anything to do PCD. You have to pick up the vehicle at the factory in South Carolina. You can bring a guest with you and they can participate in all the activities also. I don't want to hijack this thread so if you have anymore questions, pm me and I will be happy to answer.

Sean_250,
Headphones did not come with the car. Do you know if BMW brand wireless headphones must be used or can you sync any brand of wireless headphones to the car? So far we have just been playing the sound from the rear DVD through the Harman Kardon speakers in the car.

I don't. I have the BMW ones. They are easy to connect and work well. Kids like them.
But it is good to play video through the HK too with the sound up!
