Well the drivers side was easy, only unscrewed the 4-5 black screws under the bumper cover and slid my hand up in there and used a small deep socket to push on the one way type clips to hold it on. Then when I went tondo the passenger side, not so easy. Turns out the diesel has a large tank that is foam insulated right there behind the fake air intake. No room at all for a hand to slide in there. So after messing around for an hour, I took it to my buddy's body shop and he installed it while I was at lunch. He also said it was a little pain but I left it at that now I don't have to drive around with only one on like I had been doing for a week lol. They look great and was totally worth it.

What did you do with the tab on the end of the trim piece? There's no "opening" for the tabs on either side of the bumper. There are however four round openings for the pins and rivet pieces. My body shop says that they'd have to cut a hole in the bumper to attach the tabs. I'm also having mine painted body color too.
I especially love the M colors on the grille too. Nice touch! |

You can just trim/cut the tab off. The piece holds fine with just the 4 pins and locking rings.

Hello, just got the 50d inserts and a friend of mine who knows his way around cars (he did all the work on his Q5) will instal them for me tomorrow. Are there any instructions on how to do this. I assume the bumper has to be removed? Help would be much appreciated, my friend will do it, but trying to help him out.
Thanks! |

You wouldn't think it would make such a difference, but adding those small pieces makes a huge difference to the face of the M-Sport, even better when painted body colour over stock standard silver.
Why don't they get included as standard on all the M-Sports in the UK? One reason I didn't get an M-Sport but got the SE instead was that with those big black blanked off areas it looked quite ugly to me. Having said that I did have more to spend on options as the M-Sport is about £5k more here in the UK The big tank behind the left hand side (looking from the front) is the AdBlue tank in the diesel models I think isn't it. |

Looks really good. I think the US version of the M Sport looks very bland which is the reason I didn't opt for it. The standard bumper has much more character (especially Luxury Line). But those little fins in the lower bumper of M Sport really make it looks nice especially when matched to the body color.

Great Job, love the looks. I was toying with the idea of getting them also, but it really sounds like the job would be difficult at best.
Crap, it took me over a half hour to do the cradle delete (connector issues)so I can imagine how long it would take to do this. |
