Trunk Alignment Tolerances

Has anyone else noticed a difference in space between the tail light parts which are in the rear quarter panel and trunk? See pics. I have just over an 1/8th difference.

My '14 X5 doesn't have that - I haven't received my '17 M yet - but that would drive me INSANE .....

Its already driving me nuts. I can't think of any way this would happen unless it was factory assembly error

I dont have an X5M but X6M, I assume it should not be any difference between models.

My X6m is not like that.
