Air Spring Default Height
I recently replaced my rear air springs with the Arnott model from FCPeuro.com. The install was quick and easy, but when I reinstalled, I was partially back on the ground when they filled.
The bags are holding air, and I think I’m back to standard ride height, but I’m not 100% sure. After some adjustments in ISTA, I tried resetting the ride height, but again, I’m not 100% sure. Does anyone have a measurement for the OEM ride height in the rear? I have 19” OEM rims. Thanks! |

if you didn't touch the ride height sensors it should go back to normal

ok stupid question but have you driven around at all? sometimes it can take the sensors a few miles to read height and then bring it back to height

Yes. Many miles. I looked at the settings in ISTA for adjusting the ride height, but I must be entering them in the wrong place or not doing it correctly. Or, I’m using the wrong value.

I think I got it nearly there. I adjusted the settings in ISTA and reduced the amount by about 25mm (equal to about 1”). At this point, I’m within about 1/4”.
I am getting a periodic chassis error, and ISTA says that it’s an air timing issue. I’m fairly certain that the original desiccant is in the compressor, so I’ve ordered some from Amazon to replace it later this week. The ride is good, though. |

The system has timeout for compressor to reduce moisture inside system. The system will usually gey it right on 3rd key cycle after a 20 min wait with doors closed and nothing disturbed and switched off. The system needs to go to sleep for the key cycle to be closed and another key cycle counted. If you messed with it after drive or key cycle then you interrupted the system getting back to normal. when they decided water in the system was taboo many years back they made the auto air systems on Euro brands aggravating. I've seen the same on Jeep grand cherokee owing to their Benz heritage for those couple of generations (probably applies to the Fiat ones too).
