Wow that is ridiculous… you point out that they did it. That’s their fault. I’d take that further over $5k. New owner and haven’t had this issue but a non BMW technician reviewed all technicical service bulletins for this car for me and this issue came up except slightly different: he said it means you need to change oil pan bolt each oil change. That’s all I got.

Rear air suspension sagging when parked in incline. $4000+ to fix at dealer. Covered by BMW extended warranty. That repair alone is more than how much I paid for my CPO Wrap warranty! It would have really sucked to pay that much out of pocket. 2018 50i with 50K miles...

Question

Howdy!

I haven't been on this site much since registering but I could use a little help.

2015 x5 35d mechatronics sleeve/gasket kit

Do those exist for the 8hp transmission?

The attached image file is a kit for a ZF 6HP transmission. I presumed there would be such a kit for an 8HP transmission.

Thanks much!

Could use some guidance on what to look for:

Getting chassis Malfunction upon start up and multiple times thereafter. Somedays not at all. ISTA codes relate to the icm ride height and headlight beam throw (see pic)

Is this a battery issue? do I need an ICM? what do I look for? I'm new to using ISTA.

thanks in advance !

F15 crank no start

What's up Bimmers, I recently made the mistake of jumping my E36 with my F15 and it killed it. She cranks but doesn't start. I just wanted to know if anyone knows if its a burnt relay or if I actually fried my computers.
Any information and options are appreciated

Check you PCU (Power control unit) first. Did you connect cables to the battery terminals in the trunk?

Nbtevo_q update to nbtevo_y

I did iStep firmware flash today to update NBTevo_q to Y. Flshing went without a problem but my idrive is still at the old iStep version and NBTevo changed to Y. Is it because I did not select the VCM update in the E-sys option before starting Tal-Execution?

Is there any way I can force the Flash/update iStep?

Thanks

A/C Warm on Driver Side

Got the car during winter so truly testing using A/C until now

At lowest setting, 16C (60F), A/C blows Cold on Passenger Side but noticeably warmer on Driver side, both in Max A/C and /AC

-vent dial setting are in cold (both sides)

I had this issue on my e70 -but reversed, it was warm on Passenger- and ended up being due low refrigerant, however, as it was (and is) supposed to be a closed system so a leak was the true culprit.

No codes present, already searched the forum but not many results

Any other areas I should look at?

just a suggestion....have you checked the ride sensor itself? could be broken/damaged/disconnected or have a short/loose connector --which *may* explain why sometimes you do not get the error...

Lost engine oil in 2 minutes

Hi all experts, does anyone know or can help me?

I connect my BMW X5 F15 xdrive30d, to computer (ThinkDiag+) and want to see if there is anything what need to be fixed, changed etc. there was few little issues
like:28CF00 LIN, Message; Inteligence Battery sensor:Missing
and: 244800 Information Diesel Particulate Filter: Limited Remaining Distance Available

Battery sensor missing mayby because it was ex-police car.
and fuel filter already ordered for exchange.
I reset all issues and go to test drive. first round in normal drive about 0,5 mile. second round same distance in Eco mode. third drive I go in Sport+ mode for longer distance and I recognised white smoke behind me.
when I go closer to my house dashboard show me message: YOUR ENGINE OIL PRESSURE IS LOW. SLOW DOWN VEHICLE AND SAFELY PARK, SWITCH OFF ENGINE.
This was about 20-10metres from my house.
when I parked on my drive white smoke go from underneath my bonet, carefully I opened it, there was oil everywhere. even front wheels from inside was from oil.
my question: is it possible to flush out engine oil by resetting some incorrect function using this ThinkDiag+ diagnostic software, please?
can you help me? before this reset I don't have issue that oil leaking somewhere

thank you for your help

Sounds like you got oil leak, has nothing to do with computer or software.

I had a similar issue in my E61 and it ended up being the water heater control valve.

Part for F15 is Part#: 64116910544

Might be worth a shot.

Hey folks, get my US car imported into the EU. I wanna change the region through VO coding, and I wonder if the Car Play would still be in my NBT after coding?

That’s impressive to hear that they paid out more than you paid for the policy would think they would’ve fought it. What is the name of your warranty ? I got one it was BMW extended platinum. I paid a lot for it but I’m not very confident in it because it is not guaranteed by BMW. It’s actually guaranteed by safeguard or I think it might be sure guard.

I don't think you can change your region JUST by the VO coding, you need to change the coding, flash NBT unit with proper software as well as you will need FSC codes. I am not 100% sure but I think you should be able to retain CarPlay even after flashing the NBT.

Mine is called CPO Wrap. It is officially by BWM since it shows up on my BMW App as well…my dealer has been amazing in taking care of repairs under warranty.

Nice thx, that makes sense, sounds like a good one. Definitely best to be guaranteed by manufacturer. CPO wasn’t available in March 2024 for A 2018 vehicle. Apparently BMW also recently switched the guarantor (can’t recall exact term) of their extended warranties to sureguard (safeguard?).

Paid $7400 for the platinum plan, Negotiated No deductible. Fortunately, it served its purpose of letting me buy the car Remotely sight unseen, but I don’t trust it when the Financial analysts see they are close to the cash flow negative point on the policy.

Luckily, there is a residual cash value call option based on Cash paid less mileage and warranty claims paid out to date. So will be cashing in the three-year max, 36,000 mile warranty after about 10,000 miles for about $4000.

Luckily, all fluids changed inspections have come back very positive and hopefully set up for the next 40 to 80,000 miles, on top of current, 57,000 miles.

X15 2019 bounces sometimes

Hi All,
I have a BMW X5 (2019) 30d M sport since about 3 years. I live in Sydney. Recently, on starting the car, it keep bouncing while driving. It does not happen on every drive, but happens sporadically.

I got it serviced recently from VMA Euro in Penrith, based on strong reviews. They checked suspensions and said they could not detect any problems. I have had the bouncing car issue post servicing. Anyone has any idea?

Would also appreciate reco for great bimmer mechanics in Sydney. Cheers.
