xDrive35i F15 short circuit

Hi everyone,

Yesterday i was driving my X5 around town and parked it for about 10 minutes. I get back to the car, unlocks and everything seems normal up until the moment i push to start, after that i hear the clicking from the front but a bunch of errors for transmission, brake, and pdc malfunctions. AAA comes and tests both batteries, i was informed both were at full voltage. Tried to jump it anyway, no luck. Once I got it home I checked the codes and found the following:

804086
KL15WUP driver: Short circuit in battery voltage

804091
Driver KL15: Short circuit in battery voltage

8040A9
Start-stop button SST: incorrect operation (oblique pressure)

8040B6
Engine start error with starter operation: Relay sticker and or short circuit to battery voltage

80436E
Compressor clutch: line interruption or short circuit to positive

here is a video showing the symptoms:

I am not exactly sure how to tackle this. I haven’t found much info online, I hear it could be a bad battery and I was thinking of swapping the battery from my F10 to see if it makes a difference. Main reason for this post is to see if anyone has any advice, or if anyone has experienced this before. Many thanks!

does anyone have any ideas at all? I took a 105AH battery from my car and threw it on, no difference. BimmerLink will not let me erase 17 codes.

according to some research I did, some were reporting corroded ground straps were the issue. I haven’t been able to take a look at them. any info is appreciated!

Hard to say, may be IBS module gone bad, or you do have a short somewhere. Your best bet is getting ISTA and check the troubleshooting plan and electrical diagrams for everything connected to the terminal KL15WUP. Do you have a dash cam or radar detector installed by any chance?

I've meant to get ISTA on my laptop and will do that later. Nothing aftermarket is hardwired or installed, at least nothing that I know of. We had the car for about 3 years. I checked, and one of the ground straps was completely missing, and I just replaced it. The battery had gone completely flat between getting the car towed home and now, I tried jumping it but the issues persist. I read whatever codes I could, there are less codes now. The list of codes I attached will not clear from error memory. I haven't been able to check the other two ground straps.
