the music was amazing but this has to top the chart for one of the worst organized events yet by either Go Ventures or Insomniac. They told me that they no longer have parking at the event when i pulled in to park. Finally parked at some dirt parking at the science center for 25 bux. As I was walking to the line i see them letting people into the parking lots again. Really? Then came the line to get in lol. And to top it off, there were sooooo many people that there was not 1 place at the event that you did not have to push or shove to get through. AND they ran out of water lol

yeah, it was quite possibly the worst organized event i've ever been to. coachella had like 3-5x as many people and it took no more than 5 minutes to get in

Being unorganized seems to be their trademark.

Few on my blackberry but nothing online. Googling the countdown is worth it in the arena. The video is epic.

Thanks everybody for showing some SoCal hospitality!

So last night I heard from one of my friends who went VIP, the bartender was extorting them. Wanted $60 tip or else he wouldn't give them drinks. WTF? This is in VIP drink line. VIP gets free drinks.

Pretty much any non-upscale event I've been to with an open bar you paid for you had to tip the bartender a whole bunch if you even want to drink. I'd definitely expect it there. I hear though back in the day you used to literally be able to grab vodka bottles and just party. Although, then again, you also used to be able to stand in the middle of the arena and do cartwheels without hitting anybody.

yeah but $60? even 20 tip sounds reasonable, but 60 is just outright extortion. why pay $125-150 for VIP then? It's like you're paying more to drink than getting a general admission pass. i hear back in the day it was a lot cooler as well. they were also able to rave till the sunrise. but i also hear it's a cycle, so maybe in a couple years when i'm over raving it'll be good again. lol

Edit: F that, i just thought again, and if they were extorting me for 60, i wouldn't even give him 20.

I'd be pissed.

I really do hope that it dies out in a few years. Its been growing for a while now. Those massive events are just crazy at this point. It makes for a sick show but they're starting to lose control. LA wants to shut them down but they love the $$. They tried to make it more strict for new years, but it failed IMHO. Next year, maybe I'll do the GIANT event if there is one. I hear it was pretty dope.

ya... should have went to see ATB and Gabriel and Dresden... That went on till 4am too. fail this year. we nearly went home early until we found ourselves a nice area to chill. getting to and from the event wasn't so hard this time around. it's like our raver experience came through. paid 0 for street parking, and didn't get stuck in any car traffic. that was the only win of the night.

oh yeah, i wore vibrams to the event.... not such a good idea. lol my friends couldn't believe i wore them either. feet were freezing the entire night and i was terrified that someone would step on my feet. i don't remember getting stepped on(at least hard), but my left foot is still hurting a little. never again will i wear vibrams in the winter.
