preventive maintenance items

My 2018 is almost at 90k Kilometers and I'm going to get the rod bearings and front + back diff fluids.

I wanted to know if there is anything else that "should" be done to these trucks to avoid any future issues. Never had major mechanical issues, and I want to keep it that way. Do I need to change engine mounts, bushings, fuel injectors??

so far these are the mods:
  • KW V3 Coilovers
  • RK Intakes
  • Bootmod3 Stage 2
  • NGK Spark Plugs
  • Fi Exhaust
  • VRSF Downpipes

Thanks in advance

I did, as well as the re calibration. it fixed everything 100%. I didn't know I had to change the TC fluid, which is why Im doing these "early" maintenance items.

I dont know that rod bearings are needed @ 55K miles unless it was raced and never recieved oil changes. Might want to try a blackstone oil analysis first

I’m the second owner. So I don’t know how it was driven. I do have the service history, but that didn’t help with my transfer case. So I’ll just get them changed now and have peace of mind.

Add the power steering fluid as well? I think with the other suggestions above that's all fluids.

Also if you are doing bearings and taking off the sub frame, may as well do engine mounts while they are off. I did mine when I had my rod bearings changed too. Feel it's made the car noticeably smoother

I'm in a similar boat.

From what I've heard, these are also potential things to look out for:
- oil pump chain tension
- fuel injector replacement (might be a contributing factor to some recent engine failures I've read about)
- front driveshaft replacement/safety shield (reduce the chance of a failure that takes a heap of expensive parts with it)
- driveshaft centre support bearing carrier upgrade
- maybe some kind of intake valve clean (eg walnut blasting)
-zf fluid change

I've already done diff and transfer case fluids.

To my knowledge these vehicles do not have carrier bearing. It's a solid drive shaft going to the rear diff.

If you are doing Intake books I HIGHLY recommend

1, getting long magnetic torx screwdrivers so you can get to the inside bolt ( between inlet pipe and turbo).
2, unbolt shroud that holds wire so you can move it it slightly to twist and pull the hose from the engine block

Also be patient when you do this.

good luck

These injectors are nowhere as bad as e70 x5m used to be (12 revisions smh), from what i could find, very seldom they go out at least for now

Are rod bearings a common issue for the 4.4? Your car has pretty low miles too.

What happens when the Rod bearings go bad, and how do you know?

How much is the rod bearing replacement job cost? Is this something the manufacturer warranty/dealership extension will cover and replace?

Or does/will the engine blow first, then they'll tackle the replacement of the engine? lol
