KWv3 Coilovers installed! Sweeeet!
Hey guys
newbie here... loving my F85. I had the KW v3 Coilovers installed the other day. ride looks so good now. (on stock black 21" wheels). Question though, when the car is turned off, after the air bags in the rear empty out, the rear wheel well actually sits on the rear tires... it goes back up after I let the compressor fill the airbags back up after a few mins, I just cant drive off immediately because the wheels would tear the when wells and fender to shreds. When it raises, I literally see a link in the tire where the cars weight sat on the tires. Is this normal? Am I simply too low in the rear now and need to raise it a little so once the bags are empty, they aren't on the tires? How's that done? The front stays as is and is about 2 fingers for gap. Rear is 2 fingers also when airbags are full, and there's no rubbing which driving. Thanks guys! Have a great weekend. |

The airbags should not be deflating when the car is turned off. Sounds like they are leaking and need to be replaced. Common maintenance item.

as mentioned this is common, especially after you lower the rear with bags. the bags now settle in a different crease on the bags. it's likely you already had a minor leak but the car sat at stock height.
replace the bags and call it good. let's see some pics of the new stance!

Man I need to do this that looks so good. What did you set your ride height and damper settings to?
How would you characterize the ride compared to stock? This is me and my wife’s daily so I can’t have it be too harsh. |
