Interlagos Blue vs Lemans Blue

Hello All,

I just picked up a 2008 E90 M3 in Interlagos Blue. Previously I had an E90 Lemans Blue 335i. When I was looking for an M3, I was trying to find out the difference between these two colors, but I couldn't find much info except a couple of posts here saying they were "very similar". Now that I have both of these colors at home, i thought I would post to show the difference for anyone else that wonders.

They are very similar. Interlagos is a little more purple, and Lemans is a more of a true blue. I think both are beautiful. I love BMW Blues...

Please note that the 335i was not extremely dirty, but wasn't sparkling clean either. The M3 was just detailed.

Also, shameless plug, the 335i is FS if anyone is interested in a really clean and beautiful 335i with all records available. =0]

Here are the pics.

LeMans blue is the fastest of all the M3 colors. LMB adds something like 5whp

I have interlagos.

I agree they look very similar under the lighting you posted but under different conditions they can looks extremely different. Under certain light my car car can look very purple.

Its very hard to tell in those pics.
I had IB m coupe, its very hard to capture true IB in the picture.
I love when sun light hits the car, it becomes very purpleish colour. I really love IB.

I have a Le Mans Blue E92 m coupe. I actually like the blue a lot because during day it is a pretty noticeable color IMO. But at night it looks dark driving on the street so it still looks a bit menacing. Either Le Mans Blue, Interlagos or Monte Carlo blue are great colors!

That may be so, but Interlagos adds 15 ft-lbs of torque

It appears Interlagos has a deeper darker blue color and more metallic flakes in the paint.

Interlagos was also a M specific color. I'm sure there were some Interlagos Individual paint paid by customers for random cars, but not any Joe Blow BMW Owner will have it on a non-M, thus making it more special

I think Lemans is similar in that to have Lemans blue (not included the Individual paint program) you have to have the M-Sport package if it is a non M car. Besides M cars, I think its exclusive option to only M-Sport package cars.

More common than Interlagos, but still somewhat exclusive to ///M drivers.

eehhhh...close I suppose, lol. IMO, opening the color up to even M Sport cars dilutes the "specialness".

My car's color is Silverstone II, which is only on E60 M5/6, E70 X5M/X6M, E9X M3, F8X M3s, F10 M5/6 with a very small batch (less than 100?) of E92/3 EU-only edition cars released:

I too like BMW blues. I had an Estriol Blue II F30 335i that really popped but I always wondered what it would look like on the E90. EB looked great on the E36 for sure.
