UK colour preferences

Has anyone published a recent list of the most popular external paint colours for the X5 in the UK? Would also appreciate thoughts on "best" colour for standard M and SE versions. Thanks.

For an M Sport or M50d then I think Carbon Black is the best - I've had my Carbon Black M50d for just over 2 weeks now and absolutely love the colour on it (especially how it alternates between looking black and very dark blue depending on the light conditions) - One word of caution though, it really shows up the dirt + any tiny imperfections/scratches in the paint.

All the best with your purchase.

Just my opinion...

The f15 has such great symmetry and lines that dark colors can't capture. Mineral White and Space Gray were my two finalists and I chose gray just based on uniqueness.

Carbon black is an interesting name mainly because it's significantly more blue than black. Blue cars don't sell well... Therefore change the name and see if more people bite on the color. Maybe it's because my grandpa had a navy blue Malibu that I associate blue cars with old men that drive really slowly.

At the end of the day, your choice is the right choice and not being able to choose between colors you really like is a good problem to have.

Good luck with the selection process...

M50d JTD +1 on the changing colour of the Carbon and unfortunately the high maintenance.
My E70 was Space Gray and many ways I wish I had stuck with that for the F15.

When it's clean though the car does look the absolute Poddles. 😃

Another Carbon Black fan here!! It also has a great contrast with the wing mirrors on our M50d which I love...

It is definitely harder to keep clean than the SG - but worth it if you do keep the shampoo up to it...

Cheers for the advice. Keep it coming. I do love the black - looks mean - but dust & scratches plus the fact it soaks heat & has poorer visibility in bad conditions holds me back.

+ 1 Absolutely! - Great pic's and write up Schaeffs , looks a near identical spec to mine other than the black grille and de-badge. The privacy glass and 468M wheels are an absolute must, especially with Carbon Black.

X3buyerScotland Guess you don't need to worry about 'heat' north of the border, unless it's a vindaloo

Funny Baunton. Actually we were the warmest part of the UK at one point last week. More importantly we don't get all the southern smog and have higher UV levels as a result, so black can be a real heat magnet.

Finally photos of cars are indeed what we need. Brochure pictures really can be quite unrepreaentative, so any images of black or different silvers / greys for comparison would be great.

Awesome and yes virtually the same! Carbon Black rocks when it's clean!!

The 468s IMO are the best standard wheel to have with carbon black - any pictures don't do them justice as they are a stunning combination of bright silver with darker sides that really look great with the CB cars...

X3buyerScotland FYI my original spec and review. Since then have swapped chrome for black grills.

Southern smog eh...probably from all those peat fires from north of Border.

Give us a shout if you have any questions WRT specification.
