Time for a new battery
Well I'm pa it's getting that time of the year and my battery is getting weak. I have tried searching but can't really find out the process of registering a new battery. Was wondering if it's simple and inexpensive buying a cable and program. Also what is a good daily driver battery for year round in south west PA. I only work 10 mins from home so I go on a lot of short drives

My job is only about 10 minutes away from home as well. It's a really good idea to get a charger (I have a CTEK 0.8 that I use daily) to keep the battery fully charged.

Most batteries are good these days you'd probably have to try pretty hard to find one that fits in the compartment but doesn't work well. Just make sure you run tubing from any vents on the battery to the port leading outside, or you will have an explosion.
Go to the local auto parts store, they will have an inexpensive battery specced for your car and it should come with a warranty and they'll replace it with no hassle as long as you leave it to get tested to make sure it's shot. You can use a battery for a pretty long ass time without registering. Not that I've, uh, done that or anything. |

I think Carley is the most practical thing to do for the registering - which doesn't have to be immediate as has been mentioned. I have a cable and NCSExpert software which can do it too - with INPA. That software is somewhat difficult to use, however. I haven't used Carley but I bet it is easier. It runs on phones or tablets. NCSExpert takes a laptop.
