Question Why everything M3 or E9x and not 1M im confused (E82 Owner)

Hallo, its my first post so be gentle with me please im a virgin

So i spend 3-4 hours trolling this forum for information on how to best upgrade my: 135i 2008, suspension, as it sucks so much..

Now pretty much every post is about M3 or E92 or E93 this and that..

What are we not using the 1M parts?
Are the M3 parts better, and what M3 is this then ? E46 or E92 ??

So what i want to change is:

Diff: QUAIFE

Suspension: KW Clubsport 2 way incl camper plate, so actually 3 way adjustable, but they call it 2 way, don't know why..

Rear subframe bushings:
(2) bmw #33312283382
(2) bmw #33312283383

Gearbox bushing:
2 Stk bmw #22322282340

Rear Suspension Arms: i was thinking the 1M ones ????? or are the M3 better?
3 stk per side...

Front Suspension Arms: i was thinking the 1M ones ????? or are the M3 better?
2 stk per side

Sway Bars Front And Rear, Again i was thinking 1M but are the M3 better or ??

I hope some one can clarify those things and guide me the right way, i really really want to make my order with BMW tomorrow so i can get those things installed and it can be a popper car, not this funky handling stuff haha..

Cheers.....

To answer your question in the post title and without reading further: it is simple, 1er M uses M3 E9x parts.

E82 1M and E9x M3 are basically the same suspension and brake wise.

1M was a very limited production run made by raiding the parts bin for the e9x M3. That's why you won't see many used 1M parts around. e9x M3 are plentiful.

Since the 1er is basically a short wheelbase 3er the drivetrain and suspension parts are nearly all interchangeable.

E82 1 series and E9X 3 series are built on the same platform, so it explains why there are a lot of common parts between M3 and 1M.

If you dig around there is a 1addicts member who did a TON of testing on the M3/1M suspension parts vs e82 parts. He's an engineer and provided an amazing amount of info and knowledge. Some m3 parts have benefits. Some don't.

I did also see that post thanks ...

--------

To all with 1 series 135i, DON'T buy lover control arms rear 33322283549, they don't fit from the 1M or M3 parts!!! WAY WAY to short..
