2012 BMW X5 Xdrive35i
Looking at a 2012 BMW X5 Xdrive35i and looking for feedback. I am generally mechanically inclined and can handle most jobs but not sure about reliability of this car vs other X5 models and engines. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

2011-2013 BMW X5 xDrive35i will be the best E70 you will get !
His engine = N55 3.0L and it's more reliable than the other E70 engine. Stay away from the 50i - too much issue on it. Try to get a full loaded M Sport ! Looks better !

Being mechanically inclined is one thing. Some of the crazy design/engineering done for packaging is borderline stupid.
changing sparkplugs, leaking oilpan, changing trans fluid and pan/filter, are just a few of the asinine things that are stupid with the 35i or N55 engine. Otherwise, it's a plain vanilla car. I've been shopping parts at rockauto lately vs OE BMW parts, and saving a ton. Amazon.com too. I'm at 108k miles, have had it for about 5yrs now (bought used in 2014), and am looking forward to a new ride later this year, that is easier to maintain like a 4Runner or GX460 |
