Serious question about sand
Please answer if you had similar experience.
I will be driving to Carova beach, NC and it's a 30min drive on a beach and some sand roads around. I can take my X5M with winter 20 setup (summer 21 probably will be a disaster) or wife's 2020 Volvo XC60 with regular all season tires. I know about tires psi, etc. In which car do you think I will have more chances to finish the trip without calling a tow???? I am inclined to XC Last edited by PhillyX5M; 10-09-2021 at 09:02 AM.. |

I know it's different but I drove my X5m down a hill of ice and was most impressed with what it did grip wise, I'm a Land Rover man and was doubtful but it was ok. If it was me I would take what ever the whelel bearings are cheaper in as sand and wheel bearings dont get on. Also if there is speed involved the Volvo probably has better arch coverage to protect the doors from sand blasting.
