Coil misfires / drivetrain malfunction after Oil Change
Hey guys I have a 2014 x5 50i with 66k. Car ran fine with zero issues prior to yesterday. I was unhappy with my local dealer so I decided to take it to a European Service shop around my way. I had them change the oil, break fluid and reset a brake senor that the dealer failed to. Immediately after picking it up, I felt my car was a bit bouncy but dismissed it. I made it to work and upon leaving work the rocking continues. A block from my job, a get a drivetrain malfuntion error. I take it to a other bmw dealer who says I need to replace all 8 coils. Having all 8 fail after driving fine seems odd to me. The BMW dealer I purchased it from replaced spark plugs in June. Can the be related to anything oil/filter related? Is it uncommon for all these could to go bad over a 6 hour period. Car drove like butter to the Euro service center.
