change parking sensor view

Hi, in my 2015 X5 I would get the parking warning when I approached a parking curb in front of me. My 2018 X5 doesn't pick this up. It seems the parking sensors are aimed too high. Is there a way to lower the view of the sensors
? If so can they be changed in Protools.

Parking sensors are not adjustable and I doubt there is a difference between 2015 and 2018 models since its the same body and height and configuration. The only thing I can think of is the rear air suspension can slightly change the height but I never heard of it causing parking sensor issues.

Only asking because you didn’t mention it…did you turn it on? This is a feature (AUTO PDC) that can be turned off/on in iDrive. I know how to get to it in NBT/ID4 (go into SETTINGS —-> PARKING—-> AUTO PDC)…but your 2018 has either ID5 or ID6 so the look and wording may be different. If you can’t easily find it…simply use the embedded owners manual and do a search for PDC…I’m sure it will be a cinch to find it from there.

EDIT: went to youtube to see if I could find ID5 & ID6 versions of iDrive that shows their versions and wording of AUTO PDC ACTIVATION…see if you have this activated:

Thanks. The option is turned on. It's a difference on how it picks up the objects from the front.
