40e high voltage issues

Hi all,
I recently bought a 2015 BMW X5 40e with 60k miles. Driving home, I got a drivetrain malfunction shortly followed by battery not charging error. Great start to BMW ownership! I have taken it for diagnostic last week and it was found that there are voltage readings across the cells. It seems this is only in cell module 2 because I get this error in Bimmerlink: cell voltage-tolerance exceeded upper voltage limit in module 2, I assume the voltage across the battery is not balanced which is causing my issues. The state of charge on the diagnostic tool is also different to what I am getting on the car. The range on a 100% charge is between 4 and 6 miles! Can these batteries simply be rebalanced, or is the issue more sinister!
Thank you all in advance!
Apart from the battery issue, the car is lovely!
