35d tuning options
I just purchased an 2017 35dX and I'm looking to get the car tuned, more torque, no more egr, among other things. I want make one last post before I make my purchase. Ideally I'd want to tune myself, but I cant seem to find an .ols/DAMOS or an xdf for this engine. Here's what I've got so far.
My biggest gripe with not being able to remote tune is that I can't flash to stock, or change options when I might need them (e.g. emissions testing when its time). I really only care about getting rid of the EGR as I'm planning on leaving the DPF and SCR (unless the DPF clogs too frequently), so if there's a hardware only EGR delete option I'd be happy to do that. Any options I'm missing? I'd love to find some XDFs or OLS files and start manually tuning the car, and I find it hard to believe that there's only 2 companies that tune for the N57, and only 1 that offers any sort of deletes Edit: I realize there's some euro tuning companies, I'm based in AZ |

It’s sad to say, but I agree that deleting DPF, EGR and Cooler (don’t forget the exhaust manifold cooler) and SCR is the only practical way to get the miles from these otherwise amazing diesels. I will put 300,000 + miles on my awesome F15. That is a very efficient use of resources. I would encourage any deleters to put in a DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst) in the exhaust to clean up the emissions as much as possible - this makes these cars very clean _and_ efficient without all the extra fuel and resources needed to keep the complicated emissions systems working. Costs make maintaining these very complex systems unrealistic. It’s very sad. (Damn VW and the TDI scandal. Irony is that some VW/Audi TDI engines are among the most reliable and efficient on the planet…ROW only though now…)
Anyway, with this approach, tuning is a necessity. My 35d is a calm, capable hauler most of the time and a monster when needed! But be realistic, there’s no going back, so you need to understand your local requirements for emissions testing. I was a reasonable supporter of these requirements until I started seeing Porsche SUVs with Green Vehicle license plates…really? My F15 will expel far less carbon dioxide over time than a hybrid Porsche V6 or V8 turbo…come on… |

For anyone wondering, I ended up going with DITUPA. Best decision I made. The power once tuned is great, and the software EGR delete is nice. I will eventually go full delete, but with my local testing that's not currently an option. There is a loophole but its a kinda a PITA but it will probably be worth it in the long run

Via phone using a generic ENET WiFi adapter. I used the BM3 adapter as that’s what I had on hand. For ~$545 I got stg0-2 w/ EGR optimization and a stg 1 TCU tune. I don’t believe they have an Android app though. But the phone tune option is 100% my preferred method which is why I went for them
