Brake upgrade - AP Racing
As some of you know, I damaged my OE brake caliper piston. BMW refused my claimed for warranty as the car is used as a track car. I took the opportunity to upgrade the front brakes to a set of AP Racing 6 piston caliper with a massive 365mm slotted rotor. The OE 18 inch 261M wheel no longer fit, and even with my BBS RS-GT there is literally only 5mm between the wheel and the caliper. So how does the brake feel? AWESOME! I haven't tracked it yet and have yet to run in the rotors and pads properly. And I am using a set of road pads until I wear the rotors in properly. Even then, the brakes is so much more powerful! I will give you guys an account of the braking power and brake resistance on the track after my track day this coming Sat. Here is a rather ordinary pic I took on my iPhone when I pick the car up last week. I highly recommend this upgrade for anyone who track their car!

Nice one Way, they look great and i'm keen to have a feel for myself, it's interesting to hear how much more bite they have even with the road pad in. I will be very keen to hear how it goes on the track with track pads installed. :w00t:

rcracer, I am in Australia so the cost will be very different to you. I am guessing that it would cost about $4k for you over there. This is the front brakes only of course.
Andrew, thanks mate. I am really looking forward to seeing how I go on the track with these too! |

Nice one!
I am also having this done shortly at Birds in the UK. I am going with the AP BBK for the 335i which comes with 355mm discs but will not fit under the stndard wheels either. This should be done before Christmas and I will let you guys know how they feel. Jack |
