Springs....whats safe and whats not?

So I'm interested in dropping the bimmer. I've looked around and have seen some mixed views, some say there safe some they aren't....I want to give her a nice low drop, but don't want to sacrifice reliability...So far I'm only aware of the following brands: Dinan, H&R, RDSport, and Eibach....any others?

I don't think we'll ever see an aftermarket coilover application that retains EDC functionality.

you can always go the safe route and get dinan springs but It seems like eibachs are very edc friendly as well.

You can go with a custom Ground Control coilover setup that reuses OEM shocks, ie retaining EDC function. Not a true coilover setup by any means but its the next best thing.

If you want to keep EDC, then the best thing to go with is springs... Eibach, RD Sport, they're all good!

Buy yourself a set of Eibach springs.

You'll be happy with both the performance...and ride comfort.

You should water it. It may grow into EDC compatible coilovers.

Lots of worry over nothing here. There is no such thing as an EDC compatible spring. ALL springs are EDC compatible. The EDC system knows the speed of your shock/strut piston travel not its position. Hence an offset to the position does not matter. From an EDC perspective a lowering spring is just like a car fully loaded with people - everything works perfect. Decide the look you want as that is 90% of what lowering springs are about and go for it.

yeah i knew that already, but "rldzhao" has a few threads about "aggressive" springs and i wanted to avoid any problems...by the way do you have springs?

also the poll isnt for which is safest just what people prefer..

I have H&R and while I love the look I'm not really satisfied with the ride quality. I am considering coilovers or perhaps the ground control solution.

Me personally i am in the same boat.

I have narrowed my choices down to Eibach or Dinan Both nearly identical drops etc. From there the choice is yours per say they are both safest for excessive wear and tear on your stock components. Changing the bumpstop to an e36 with one of these springs then everything is GREAT.

All I hope is that I don't create a BUMPY ride.
