We've taken a look at the new X5 (F15) [Official Release] versus the outgoing X5 (E70) [see comparo], so we now pit the new X5 against one of its direct competitors - the Mercedes ML.

Below are tables comparing the physical specs, powerplants and performance between the new X5 and the ML, as well as the comparison photos.

Yea, I think the ML rear end looks way better. X5 front and interior looks really nice, though.

The current X5 is much much better IMO.

IMO Interior is far better looking than exterior on both cars. Rear end is extremely ugly on both cars. Again JMO

Current model x5 is much better

The more I see this absolutely uggly Benz, the more it remembers me of seing a Sang Yong !
How can a manufacturer release such piece of crap, even worse, how can people buy such a thing?
The new X5 will yet have to make its proves, but it is all in all an acceptable evolution of the E70, especially with a good looking a more modern dashboard, integrating the modell range of BMW.

Thanks for the pics of the Rover.

After looking at them one after the other. I like the new x5 more. I like the x5's interior more, it looks more dynamic and I like the overall look of the exterior better. The full size range rover looks better then the sport IMO. Seeing that next to an X5 might be a harder decision.

The Mercedes wins from the front profile no question... But it looks so ugly from every other angle. BMW wins again.
