Vibration noise in stick shift
2013 E92 with 6MT, car is just a year old, since new has had a small rattle noise, only in third gear at steady RPM. Not a big deal, barely noticeable. I have been hoping it would go away with break in but it hasn't. I will have to pull off the shift boot and see if any thing looks loose. When I squeeze the leather boot and stick the vibration noise goes away. Any one else have or heard of this issue? Might do it myself instead of having dealership tear it apart.

I am ok with the overall shift feel for now. It is not the best stock as we all know but I have no problem launching hard and chirping second and third and so far so good with 3 to 2 downshifts. I may try the ZHP knob mod. |

Sorry guys. Took off boot and wrapped some electrical tape tightly around the wiring and clip. Reinstall boot. Not sure why it was only 3rd gear. Must have been something with the position of the selector rod in that gear and the vibration.
