The wait is finally over....

Well after 4 months of waiting and then going back over what I may have missed off my spec, I today collected my Space Grey MY15 40D M Sport. Drove it back 30 miles from the dealer in not the best of weather but it did not wipe the smile off my face. Have not really had time to play with everything as its pissing down at the moment but just wanted to share and say thanks to this forum for the help, information and support during the long wait. Not sure if it drove me crazy or kept me sane to be honest!

First impressions are the wait was well worth it, looks fantastic, smooth, quiet, comfortable, just feels like quality in the cabin, makes you feel important.

It is such a better drive than my previous X5, MY10 E70, (had a 640D M Sport and Disco 4 in the middle bit) the user interface is first class and so clear, I need to play with the settings before further comment but I am impressed so far.

I kept the spec to what I thought would A) actually improve the driving experience and B) wanted that sporty look and C) 5 previous BMW's

Base things:
xDrive40d M Sport - must have IMO
Space Grey - had black and white but space grey easier on the cleaning
Black dakota leather black/black world - little to go wrong was the thinking
Hex Aluminium trim - best sport look option

Spec (accessories);
Front comfort seats - new to me but comfortable to far
Sun protection Glass
Model Designation deletion - side and rear (and yes you loose the smaller M badges on the side)
High Beam Assist
Reversing Camera - must have and with the tow bar fitted you can change the angle of the camera!
Speed Limit Display - just to remind me!
Full Electric Tow bar - brilliant how this works and stows away
Internet access
Adaptive LED Headlights
20" black 491 style alloys - IMO really good option against the space grey
Auto dimming folding door mirrors
MF display with HUD -glad I went for this one

Couple of pics to illustrate the space grey and black thing

Been a special day

Hope you like it

Hi Baunton, yes tracker fitted could not get insured without it. Getting those Alloygators fitted Monday, could not cope with wheel rash. Talking of the better half Im sure you know but it was new to me, you get two keys which on entry sets the seats etc to the last position when the vehicle is opened with that key,
it drives me mad when she fiddles and I have to reset it all, mind you have not told her she has her own key yet

PS - Forgot to mention had the optional gloss black kidney grills fitted by the dealer as part of the PDI

That color goes very well with M Sport. Much better than Black.

Has anyone returned a debadged lease and were billed? I wanted to just remove the rear badge only but I am worried I can't find the badge replacement.

Can't you just put it in your drawer at home, then re-apply it back on when you give it back? (Let's not hijack another thread! Haha)

I didn't want to start a thread just for that, it's just that his super cool pictures reminded me. I guess I can do that.. I was worried about applying it correctly. I can't find them for sale anywhere.

A+. Looks great. My first choice color, which was naturally over ruled by the family boss.

Thank you and the family boss is always right, or that's what she tells me. Front view and the back up vehicle

I have the same exact same colour and wheel combo coming in a few weeks for the wife. I blacked out the grill too. But I also added the black rear lip spoiler ans M Perf brakes.

Post up more pics if you have any

@6605paull I noticed the grill..looks good on Space Gray and Carbon Black

Gators are excellent...saved me a shed load of grief already. A worthwhile investment.

WRT Tracker. Its interesting. I would have one installed anyway but Aviva said I had too on my previous X5 but when I swapped to Direct Line they never mentioned it as a requirement.....guess its because we are out in The Sticks!

As your Other Halfs and their keys..I'm lucky, my wife prefers her Evoque...and hardly ever drives my car, which suits us both

Looks great, congrats and enjoy. Love the black kidney grill. How much was it?

In regard to keys and depending on how many adjustments you need to make it may be quicker to go to settings > profiles and select your profile. Maybe you can set one of the remote keys to go to this option automatically.
