Nice one mate! Is this alpine white or mineral white? The ship carrying ours is docked at Brisbane atm and will be with us in about two weeks

Looks awesome! The M performance kit compliments the AW colour well…

A fire orange F80, you are a man of taste

Mineral White, the pearlescent finish doesn't translate very well in photos but is adorable in real life. Smart looking car all round.

Do you have any rear shots of your F15? I quite like the M performance diffuser on the Msport, however I will be installing a tow bar soon and apparently it is not compatible.

I only fitted the front lip and grills. Didn't see the point in fitting anything else. Have a tow bar as well, which has been a nightmare. Apparently the wire in kit for the aussie lighting systems doesn't like talking to the bmw software. Also the rear tow bar assembly is not like a traditional box tube. The entire tow bar mounts via a coupling. Which proved disappointing when I went to install the rear bike carrier. Thank fully our local dealer has found a solution around this. Can't help but feel BMW dropped the ball here for Australian conditions.

Thanks for your reply mate. I'm interested to know more about your tow bar as I'll be fitting one soon. I have seen a few different types on the road. Is your tow bar a mechanical or electric? Does it looks something like this?

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=779295

Or this

Apparently you will have to install a LED adaptor for the lights to make it works.

I will be using the tow bar mainly for my Thule bicycle holder and occasionally hiring a trailer from Bunnings/Masters.

Did you order the OEM BMW tow bar? What's the bike carrier solution the dealer found. Would you mind posting a photo of the tow bar?

I absolutely love the mineral white!

Sorry guys I was away for a business trip recently and just come back. I am based in Sydney, and just got my dealership changed the lock, it opened by itself when I was driving, feel really threatened. Car was driven great until this happened.

Welcome Ninjaoz!

Another M50d owner! Glad your issue has been rectified by the dealer. Got any photos of your beast?

Guys I just had a tow bar fitted here in NZ. I think it is a great solution that doesn't affect the looks of the vehicle and is easily attached and removed.

Looks good! Is the tow bar OEM? What does the tow bar tongue look like?

Here is a low quality shot of the tongue. The whole install was done by the local BMW dealer so all works nicely and has the full towing capacity etc. The towball is replaceable as well which was important to me.

I think the bar was made by BestBars. The do sell into Australia I think.

Thanks for the photo NZPolarbear! The tongue looks similar to Hayman Reese, actually I prefer this over the euro type.

I've booked it to get mine done in March, will post photos once it has been fitted.

My X5 seems to be stuck at the port in Savannah, with the following status "DELAYED-BIOSECURITY". Can anyone shed any light on this? The car has been loaded on the boat.

Our X5 has been held in Port Kembla for two weeks now for quarantine. Not sure if they are related, could be something b/w OZ and US?

Ruby black X5 50i M pack

September last year Purchased a new 2014 X5 50i with M pack, seven seater in mocha nappa leather throughout. Most options including the v cool thermal vision. It's in the individual colour "ruby black". Love the car. It did a stock 0-100 in 4.4 secs the other day as measured by m lap timer app. I have only managed a 4.3 in my M4 so far.

Now to resolve a point of curiosity, have any of you ever seen one of these Australia market external tire carriers, and is BMW Australia making them for F15? Source: Attachment 1156932 (pdf source BMW Aust.)

Sorry - bit late to the party here. Saw my name in lights and thought I'd better respond. We currently have a 2011 F25 X3 30d but later this year we'll be looking at either a replacement LCI X3 or upgrading to a F15 X5. Time will tell.

In specific response to the question about the spare wheel carrier, its my understanding that BMW Australia will not be doing the same for the F15 X5 (the spare wheel carrier shown was for the previous model E70 X5). The reason is that there was - unfortunately - such a poor uptake of the wheel carrier for the E70 that they will not be putting in the engineering effort to develop one for the F15.

A pity because with the amount of country driving we do, we wouldn't do without the security of a full size spare (runflats or not). Even in our F25 X3 we have a full size spare permanently tied down in the back. Only had to use it once in 3.5 years, but it was worth it for the hassle it saved.

Tony

Hey there, your MW M50 looks hot. Your right no photos do it justice, in the sunlight Mineral white glimmers.
I went with Individual Azirite Black.

Looks like my x5 won't be here until late April now. I'm very tempted to go to the dealer and try and do a deal on one in stock! Anyone else had luck doing that before?
