2015 X5 Blindspot mirrors?
Hey guys! I am new to the forums and BMW altogether. I recently just bought a 2015 Black Sapphire Metallic X-Drive 35i X5 with the M-Package and love the car! However mines was bought from a dealer and did not include the driver convenience package with blind spot monitoring and active cruise control. I was wondering if they made a blind spot mirror specifically for the 2015's. I asked the parts dept at the dealership and was told everything comes directly built from the factory and a stand-alone mirror was not available for purchase to stick on to the side mirrors. Is this true and if so, does anyone know of any blindspot mirrors that would sit flush with the factory side mirrors? I noticed the factory mirrors are a weird triangular shape and have slight a concave shape to them. I originally posted this on the X5M Subform but was told I would have better luck on this forum instead. Thanks in advance for any info!

welcome!
Those with the gray shaded outside have a wide angle section. Those mirror are not legal in the US. There are a few old threads and a YouTube somewhere that shows how to remove the mirror parts. Adding blind spot detection is next to impossible if you don't have it from the factory. catalog section: http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/search/sele...5+35dX/USA/51/ I believe you now have 5 as a standard: http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/search/sele...SA/51/51_9319/ Same catalog, but showing Euro part numbers: http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/search/sele...CE/51/51_9319/

Thanks guys but I was wondering if they made a stand alone blindspot mirror u can just stick onto the mirror itself. If not I'll just go to the autoparts store and buy a pair to stick on. It might not look flush considering that the blindspot mirrors in stores are either circular or rectangular whereas the mirror itself is triangular in shape, but it'll have to do.

Try stick on to set if you are comfortable with the view before spending on Wide Angle.
Actually MattBianco correctly identified the part first see post 21 from other forum,: For further good insight: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=808213 |
