My New X5
First a Thank You to all on this board. Many of you helped spec out, select a dealer, and modify my new X5. I ordered my X5 on 9/15 and it was built by 9/29. It arrived at the dealer on 10/7 and I picked it up on 10/10. I have enjoyed the car for a week now and other than the IPhone 6 Bluetooth Problem it has performed perfectly. I am coming off a X6 which had 145,000 miles on it and I have noticed this vehicle much quieter than the X6 and while they both have the exact same tire size, this vehicle rides much smoother. The X6 you could feel every crack in the road where the X5 I can't. There is a big difference in the steering it has taken some time to get used to the X5. When I first drove it I was bouncing off the lines in my lane triggering the lane warnings, but I have since gotten used to it. I am more accustomed to feeling the road while steering in my other cars. I have 3 things left and thats a invisihitch, radar detector then some coding work. I am in S.E. Michigan and noticed there are no coders available in MI. If there is anyone out there that is willing to help I would be interested. Here are a few pictures next to my other car.

Your X5 looks great, and the Spyder isn't half bad either! Did you install the Euro grill trim, or did dealer do it for you at delivery? Planning to have it installed on mine when it arrives in a couple weeks. Congrats!

Congratulations.
It looks sweet. The M kit is always a pleasure to look at, and well that spyder, is another story. Enjoy it. |

I got the part numbers off this forum and had the dealer order them prior to vehicle delivery. I found step by step instructions here and did it myself. It was a fun project that took me 2 1/2 hours. Good luck and if you have any questions or need instructions let me know. |

@bak, as others have said, you have a very beautiful home, X5 and F430 Spyder . You sir, have solid taste - congrats! Thanks for the pics; I really like the view from your backyard. You should take more pics of your X5 with the lake in the background - just my two cents if you're ever considering a new photo sessions. Considering how bad Michigan winter is, you chose a perfect time to get your X5.

Looks really nice, and so does that house. It looks like one of those demo houses of a new community, everything is clean, not a leaf on sight, concrete is so nice and fresh. It looks like you got a great view of the lake, after Sandy I am really afraid to live close to water now. (Unless that's just a pond)
Congratulations on the new X5 and the house too, if it's new.

Its my twin! Nice ride man. I've REALLY gotta do the euro trim/inserts...looks way better. You should add the M Performance black kidneys...first thing I did, definitely changes the look of the vehicle, especially with gloss black trim on the rest of the vehicle.

Yep, those fins/grille splitters really make the car look so much better. In US, they aren't standard so it looks really bad with all that exposed black plastic.

@Bak, are you going to get rid of the amber reflectors, too? @opasha, did you ever look in to that? Without taking the bumper apart, trying to just stick something on top of them or maybe have your wrapper friend just tint them?

From what I know, he is going to wrap over it. Since it's adhesive it shouldn't have any issues going right over from what I understand. We are starting the project this week, though . Finally!
