I would go to build your own bmw and choose the Msport line and see if it mentions anything regarding the feature not being available. I know for X6 if you choose the Xline, you dont get the feature and it prompts you about it. but on base and msport line it comes as standard. Not sure about X5.

I have checked the parts diagram, and the part is shared with X3, X4 and X6. At last follow up was trying to determine how to wire it as the part itself is fairly cheap (circa $50-70).

Has anyone figured out how to wire the part to X5?

r33_RGSport has long promised to figure it out. I think he is hoping to see an X3/4/6 with the access so he can check out the wiring diagram.

Someone on this board may have to reach out the X3/X4 folks to see if they can send us photos of how it is wired.
