F15 - X5 Survey (Final) For Those Who Bought New
Please ignore the forum's survey above -no longer relevant and I cannot remove by editing this thread.
Instead, please complete the owner's survey linked below and feel free to glance at the results if you are contemplating a purchase. The survey was collaboratively designed. I took many PMs, forum comments, and in-survey comments to modify and accommodate requests. I am sure there are still typos and many ways to improve the survey (not remotely my line of expertise). I intended for this to be a new or near new purchase feedback and not a long-term ownership survey. How is the car out of the gate? fairly new? what do you think of the various features and options? • Take the survey: 2014 X5 (F15) Survey . It takes about 2-3 minutes. • Results link: RESULTS Thank you all who helped. Last edited by MattBianco; 01-26-2015 at 01:15 AM.. |

Still seems like "no" to issues at the vehicle level doesn't get recorded at the individual option issues level. Some options therefore look like they are 'always' a problem even though many owners with the option have no issues. Is it better to record 'no problem' at each individual option?

We got enough responses (50+) to make the results worth a glance Link ->: Survey Results.
Very little traction here, but over on the "fest" the admins reached out and asked for some more clean up, and then put it on the front page of the whole site today. Thank you to those who helped. |

Hi Matt,
When you have "other" as a choice, are you giving the respondent a chance to type their "other" response? Also should we be using this particular topic to discuss results? For example, I am surprised to see so many issues with HUD. |

• Other, yes you can input whatever you want. • Other in HUD, it consists of three (as of 51, now) responses saying they cannot see it with polarized glasses. Specifically: "Cannot see it if you wear polarized sunglasses"; "Cannot see when wearing polarized sunglasses"; "Can't see it with polarized sunglasses". I was merely hoping people would promote the thread so more people complete it, and stay out of the data interpretation. BTW, if anyone really wants the raw data, I am happy to send/share it as a spreadsheet. |

Hi Matt,
My Other comment was not specifically for HUD. In general when people choose other, maybe we can have those "other" reasons listed somewhere. I am going to add your survey link to my signature. Added, with your permission. And instead of adding 2015 a whole new survey, I think you should add year selection on top, so the old results can remain visible to both owners. I also have a feeling some 2015 owners may have used the survey already. I am not sure how the results can be filtered based on year, though. Filtering results would help a lot also, for example someone who has 35d can filter and see what problems others have in that particular model.

Golden Horn, noted. Spread the news
It is quite difficult to list the other, and that is a limitation of the Google Forms, when displayed on their analytic summary page. However, all "other" comments are captured in a spreadsheet, I am happy to share publicly. Your request would have been very nice in that everyone would see the "other" comments. Should I change the title from 2014 to just X5 F15? |

I was going to keep it as is until there is a major revision. The only difference between '14 and '15 now is some programming changes for the transmission, and possibly a tiny gear ratio change for some of the gears. '14 and '15 are practically identical.

Oh ok, I was just wondering if there was a different one since the title on the survey had '14. I will go ahead and fill it out. Thanks for making this survey!

Most welcome, though the credit goes to this forum/community -a lot of people. Many in this thread helped formulate the questions, clean the typos, recommend format, etc. Others PM'd me with suggestions.
