Thanks for the positive comments everyone. Well, we did trouble shoot. I spent 5.5 hours yesterday trying to figure out everything with them until we finally did. However, despite this, the system acted up while I was driving (becoming unsafe), and I had to pull over. Thankfully, I was near my neighborhood and safely aired up all four air bags to the top setting and drove home. I just wanted to share my honest experience, and thank everyone for the support and kind words.

That's brilliant opasha.

Is that a 'regional thing' with a 'self fuelling' option or was it part of the upgrade you have been working on all this time?

opasha , sorry to hear about the suspension problem.
Overall, your car looks great though. Don't give up on modding.

Wow Omar, hate for the build to close like this especially on a major piece like air ride suspension. But for the rest of it the X5 looks amazing and hopefully with just regular springs and rear arms you can achieve the look you were going for.

Either way nobody riding around in a X5 like this one

@ Opasha. Thanks for sharing your experience as it happened to you. As someone else already asked, are you keeping the stock suspension or will you be doing something else for suspension mods? You are a brave one for taking on mods that haven't been tried by anyone else. Hats off to you. Here is hoping that things work out and you are still very pleased with the final mods.

Thanks guys. I do love the wrap color, just not how it interacted with the cold weather. I'll be sticking with stock suspension.

I woke up this morning (it's morning in my neck of the woods) and what do I see? opasha 's newly unwrapped (or should it be wrapped) beauty sipping gas at the station.

The deflation (sorry, couldn't resist) over the Air suspension notwithstanding, the outcome externally is eye-catchingly beautiful. cant wait for the interior shots!

Congrats, Omar, it's a beautiful result

opasha, I know the color has a marketing and/or a technical name. But, to me, this is the closest to the original silver you'd see (if you are old enough) on early 60s and late 50s Porsches and the the SL Roadster. I was lucky enough to see a few of those in their original paint in the early 70s. I love it.

Opasha, congrats on the wrap, nice. Sadly the air thing didn't work out, I guess you would never know till you tried. Must feel nice driving your big 50i again.

Not sure if it was in the planning, but I think you should think about changing the grill for some silver contrast.

opasha I feel your pain on the modding front. I've spent so much time, effort and money modding old cars that I never really go to enjoy them. But regardless, your car still looks great. Now I just tell myself a little is ok as long as it's in moderation.

I figure I would show the only interior pic I could take that night and the ride heights level 1 (lowered stance) and level 3 (off-road stance) of what the removed air suspension was capable of doing when it worked.

Wow opasha - it's such a shame the air suspension's gremlins got in the way of keeping it installed on your car. Having it lowered and raised like that would have been awesome!

Looks F'ing Amazing! Nice job Omar! Don't get me wrong, it sucks that you went through some crappy and long wait for the air suspension, but you tried it and it didn't work out to your standards and again I don't blame you, I would be upset too! You truly did a beautiful job and I'm loving that wrap! Nice job pal! You the bomb! Can you give us more info on the steering wheel?

It was 50/50. I really liked the ability to have different stances and the fact that the ride was very comfy (no one felt bumps) and flat (no body roll whatsoever). However, the sensor issues, possible air leaks, extremely loud air tank (when filling up to 200psi of air), throwing chassis stabilization error code when driving from my home to the shop in ride level 3 (highest height), and lack of steering tightness made it not worth keeping.

Love the lowered stance and i think the wrap on the running boards and black trims make the car look even bigger and much more nicer..

Thinking of wraping mine also now, but I need to find a wrap that will match or goes well with the MW. What do you reckon opasha ?
