repaint or not?
I'm leasing a '14 35d. As I mentioned in another post, during my last service visit (which happened to take 3 weeks), the dealership managed to scrape off a bumper corner (see attachment). They've agreed to fix it, which apparently involves repainting the entire bumper.
What's the consensus on such a big paint job vs just buffing out what comes out and leaving the exposed part as is? I don't intend to buy it out, so don't particularly care about resale value, just care about how it'll look to me for the remaining 29 months of the lease.

In all honesty, i do not see any other options. Like what the other answer can be? "Do not paint?" So you would be driving around with such an eye sore, which will bother you. I know THAT boo-boo would bug to day light out of me.

necessarily paint, so the photo look like deep scratch which will come out with polishing, do not know how to you but here painted whole details, which means paint the whole bumper, if you do not take measures to scratch this time will be increased

the downside is if they do a crap job. then i'll have to look at a whole bumper, not just a scratch..
i guess that's not super likely.

have them fix the whole bumper. they should be able to make it as good as new. this happened to me once on my previous car during service and they fixed it and it was flawless.
do keep with scratches. they may give you issues at lease turn in.

Don't claim on insurance , or use the insurance recommended shop - ask dealer for a good shop. |

Yeah, this dealer has their own shop.
Ok, sold. Didn't realize what the process was, sounds like the better option.

Thats beyond being polished back to new. Have the bumper re-painted (but have it removed to do so). Possible overspray and masking lines are brutal.
