OP must be sad to not drive your car... Very anxious at your results. By having a friend wrap your car is great because you save on labour. What was the material cost of your vinyl?

Update 6: Resin is still drying on the rear bumper and door panels (cold weather really really ruins everything ). This job is nearly impossible for one person, so I went in today to help him clean off, buff, and polish the carbon fiber parts that are finished. Tomorrow morning I'll be going in again to help him so that everything can get finished...the waiting game still continues for the resin. Yes, the final product is starting to look amazing and blend perfectly, but it takes A LOT of work. Now, I know why other companies charge so much money. They have multiple workers doing different parts at a time and have heated work environments 24/7 to let things dry correctly. Note, this is actual 3K carbon fiber cloth that was put onto the wood panels; then, it was resin coated multiple times, clearcoated, wet-sanded, buffed, and finally polished. Not easy at all especially for one person. Anyway, thanks for the patience and support .

I completely agree that it is a lot of work for one person....if you want the car back in a reasonable time that is. I know you are anxious to get your car back brother. Just a few more days. Hang in there. I would help you if I was near by.

Honest to God, this is X5 pr0n at its best. That slow striptease, building to a climax. I just can't wait to see the money shot - and I pray to God almighty that there ain't any minors reading this right now

Are you planning on leaving the trim silver? Or are you going wrap in gloss black? IMHO, the later would contrast really well with both the color and texture of the satin.

Leaving it satin. I prefer it that way especially because of my titanium grilles.

The final Satin Chrome touches are being finished tomorrow morning with my dash cam install (I'm going in tomorrow morning to help complete it all and go over every inch of the car for imperfections). The car also will get completely cleaned and detailed for free. I know it's been too long, but I'm finally getting my car back tomorrow!!!
Sorry for the average quality pics. My friend does not have a good phone camera (Galaxy S3).

Looks very aggressive and futuristic, Omar. The painted running boards complete the stealth look of the entire car yet remain functional.
Interior carbon wrap is also masterfully done with clear coating on every piece. This is definitely the most extensive carbon wrap I have seen in some time. Carbon steering wheel is just the icing on the cake, this is more carbon than x5 M lol! |

My third trip since you began this, and every time I believed that I would miss the unveiling of the beautiful wrap. And, again, like a 10 year old, I want to beat everyone to the punch and say here in your old thread, that it looks gorgeous. I can say that with confidence because I have seen so much of the progress you have shared so far. This time, I hope to miss it because I don't want to see you posting updates when I am back.
