x50i exhaust issue

Hello,

So I've noticed over the past few days that my car no longer makes the nice burble blap blap noises in Sport mode after accelerating and releasing the accelerator. Now it sounds the same as it does in Comfort mode and that's not how it used to be.

Has anyone else encountered this? I have a dealer appointment on Monday to have it looked at.

Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance!

I'm not really sure. How many miles are on your X5 now?

Does it still shift and handle like Sport mode, missing only the sound?

Opasha- It has 9752 miles now.

MattBianco- It does hold the revs up like Sport mode should and the handling seems the same, I didn't really check to see if it handled the same though. I just know the sound is off.

Take it to a local body shop and get them to check your exhaust to make sure there are no issues. I wish I could tell you more, but I hear loud exhaust notes in Sport because of my tune chip, so I def can't reproduce your issue.

When's your oil change?

id say...get your 50i nice and warm by driving somewhere were you can do a full throttle top speed run, start at 0 or slow cruise and mash the throttle. let the car shift itself getting as close to redline as it normally would and make sure you have room to get through a few gears...

Not sure if the muffler is like my M5 but if it is there are vacuum actuators controlling flaps on the muffler. If it has them check to see if a vacuum line is off or if something is jammed in there. If not just take it in for service.

Thank you all for your replies. I just dropped it off at the dealer because the check engine light came on the day after I posted this. Hopefully they'll tell me what's wrong later today or tomorrow.
