2015 or 2016?
Placing an order for new 35d, dealer said that I can either get it in July or wait for 2016 and get it in September.
It will be financed. Should I wait for the 2016? any idea on the changes coming in 2016? Finance rates from BMW Canada are terrible now or later and has been like that since 2014 is out. No incentives on X5 since 2014 as well. |

I haven't seen any information about the F15 MY2016 yet. It seems we will get details around July. I don't think there will be any major change since a new gen was released in 2014 but I could be wrong.

The facelift is coming in 2017....so the only major changes will be how they arrange the packages. If you like the current packages then go for the 2015, because you never know how they will move things around for 2016.
For example, I love the soft close doors and for 2015 they were removed from the Premium package and replaced by 4 way climate control. My back seats are empty 99% of the time. Food for thought...... |

Beside the packages, I am also considering the resale value down the road.
Assuming I will keep the car for 5-6 years or more, won't 1 model year difference make a difference. |

For the month's difference, I'd wait. Unless they offer you a strong deal on a 2015 MY.

Newer is almost always better. There may be package changes and $500-1.25k price increase, but you gain that in resale value. And, who knows, there may even be small improvements.

Thank you all for the feedback, I will talk to the dealer this week either an outstanding deal on 2015 or will be going for 2016.
Is there any point in signing now for 2016? (with the right to back away if I did not like 2016 packages or pricing). |

You don't need to sign now. Make sure you are getting exactly what you want!

Options and packages add up in cost, but they are what make the car behave and feel as you want it. The advice above is more important than the year selection.

Jeez just as I was getting close to order, I have to think about waiting 4 more months.
I'd love to wait it out, but my wife is getting impatient. Plus, we are expecting a baby and I want her to enjoy the car a bit before she gets very big. |
