6WB digital cluster ...which countries?

Hi buddies!

Does anybody knows which countries will have this option available? I can see its standard in Canada...but any other countries for 2015?

I'd like to know before giving a shot with the retrofit in order to avoid any conflict with services and to avoid install and reinstall

So far, Canada, UK, Australia, and Saudi Arabia have the option from forum member posts that I have seen.

We have it here in Bulgaria. I have checked it for my build... couldn't resist after seeing it on @opasha retrofit post. Can't wait to see it live!

I am sure it can be ordered in Germany too, as I've used the configurator on bmw's website and opted for 6WB there.

This is the LCD instrument cluster, correct?
I just returned from browsing my local dealer's lot and noticed several of their new X5's did, in fact, have the LCD instrument cluster on them, while most didn't. Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, but you most likely saw the 6WA Extended cluster. It looks blank for the big circles just like the 6WB. The other ones probably had the 6WA Basic cluster, which shows everything when off. As far as we know, 6WB has not made it to the US, and it does not seem likely that it will here anytime soon due to the F16 (one of the main marketing strategies for people to see some appeal of the F16 over the F15).

Thanks for the info! Can you provide me some detail on why some have this 6WA Extended Cluster and some don't? I'm assuming it's included with a package. I still view this as an improvement from the Basic Cluster.

I can't remember the package it comes in, but it's due getting the package that has HUD (Head Up Display). Yes, the extended display is definitely better.

It comes as part of the Driver Assistant PACKAGE.

Every market except the largest one, US, where they can finish off the 6WA inventory and vendor order sooner, brining everyone to one platform. That rationale is my guess.

Maybe the 2016's will have the 6WB in the US?

It's possible. I guess it depends on how well the F16s sell this year.

So the way I see it, we should all start encouraging people to get F16s like right now

We have this in Switzerland. Mine has the extended display but I looked at this on a 5 series and didn't like it so much. I preferred the clearer dials on mine, even though I love gadgets but price was also ridiculous.
I'll wait until its upgraded to a higher resolution / quality.

Yes it's available in the UK on all F15 models and if you select the HUD then the price of 6WB is lowered by a decent chunk.

I think it's a great display although I'm certain there will be resolution enhancement akin to the iPhone retina display when the LCI X5 comes about in 3yr or so.
