So it is not a pic

...a random video not picture.....truly random.....wife was picked up by friend to go to a fitness class, so I shamelessly stole the X5 and took if for a joyride.

Started at sea level where it was foggy. It was clear above 1500 ft, and and 2800 ft, it was like a flight above clouds. At one point I stop and zoom and you can see San Francisco's TV/Radio tower piercing through the clouds around the 5:10 mark. It was very impromptu so no action cam...just the bad choice of one handed driving on the twisty road.

Amazing MPG at 20 (11.7L / 100km), measured at top of the mountain, despite Sport+, heavy foot, and about 3000 ft of gross uphill climb.

Looks like the car got a good workout. Very nice, I think I only saw one opposing car. Thanks, I enjoyed the scenery and nice bends all over the road.

Great one. Terrific.

I have been Bay Area often, but had never found a trip without seeing other cars and ppl. However, it seems you don't encounter these. Can you share the route this time?

Thank you.

Tried something new again. A hand wash. Soo long time ago now, I am too lazy.
The lower surfaces are already like sandpaper, and some hard polishing work should soon be done. Uhh.

It was my excuse for cleaning out the diesel particulate filter I dipped the phone at an oncoming park ranger truck. May be 5 -8 cars on the main portion of the drive.

Today, I drove this route: Link The first 8 miles can be busy on sunny weekends as many are headed to Stinson Beach.

This is a great drive, nice and long with no cars on most of it: LINK Again, the first 8 miles may be busy on weekends. Then, not.

You will pass scenes like this one, on your return between Stinson Beach and Mill Valley:

I have the hard time to hand wash the car in winter. How could you survive in even longer winter out there?

Thank you for sharing.

I remember the LINK #2. Hwys of Shoreline and Panoramic. We talked about how to get better shots 2 months ago.

I did drive there before... but again, tons of cars and ppl. You're right, it's about the weekend.

PM "congestion guide" sent.

Others wanting to explore "West Marin", just drop me a note. My photos don't do justice as you can go through redwood forest, to vast grasslands and then be at the edge of cliffs over the ocean, or in oak dotted hillsides in a span of 5 minutes.

I do the washing indoors!
Both winters and summers are nice in Scandinavia. But I wish it was summer all year.
