First hand track experience on the truck

Guys, here is a couple of my video.
Don't judge me since I haven't been on the track for 8 years and wasn't on an SUV.
I will write up the details tomorrow on the experience which may help most of you to decide what options to get.

Here is the first video from the 3rd session of the day, I drove faster, but the M3 just can't be beaten.

This is the second video from the 2nd session of the day. They mixed the slower group with us. So, as you can tell. I drove rather slowly than the first video.

I may upload the last session of the day tomorrow where I got passed again by the M3. I am debating on that, since I don't want to bore you guys since the last session was pretty quiet as some of the guys left for the day already.

Note: If the video hasn't load up, try again later, YouTube server may still decompressing it.

Wow, what an amazing track. I would love to drive my 50i there! Thanks for the videos, @r33! Did you have your stability control turned off at all during your testing? It doesn't seem like it. I'm sure that would have been even crazier. Did you change up your tires too?

<joke begins> You shouldn't be using EcoPro when you do this <joke ends>.

That looks like a lot of fun. Is the corner at 1:45 in the first video banked? The rest of the course looks totally flat, which is a lot more fun. Your angles looked really nice.

Second video would not load for me

Nevermind, second vid is still uploading. Once you see it have a 0:00/Time Frame, then it is done uploading.

Why don't we have nice tracks like this in NY? Or do we? Can someone tell us where is the closest track and also do they rent cars at the track?
I got the bug after we did the 7 laps at UDE, man it's an amazing feeling. Especially on a sedan, knowing that it won't roll over and you just push it into the corner and then floor it, wow! *Insert Tuco's booyah exclamation from Breaking Bad here*

r33, you're officially DA MAN in DA HOUSE. Looks like you had a whole heap of fun - and I'm sure you made it look way easier than how it was on track. Why did you have the mic on mute anyways? Thanks for the vids man! Awesome!

That is so cool, I want to do that!

When talking about one option or another on the forums, I hear people say "...unless you plan to track your car". I had a preconceived idea about what that would actually be so I didn't think that I would do that either. If I knew where a track like that was around here, I'd definitely do it.

I used to take my E53 mudding; its really fun. All my good places have some form of building on them now so I don't do it anymore (not that a lower-slung X6 is very appropriate for mudding ).

Thanks but most of the closer ones are just gokart tracks or actual nascar trucks with no public access, i'll definitely check the list for others.

Ah, sorry, buddy. I didn't even open up the tracks to see what kind they were. Hopefully, there's a good one near you.

@Wobbles, I am using the Blackvue dashcam, I tried with Mic on, but the sound is just too crappy. Maybe I haven't set it up correctly, cuz I got it the day before the track day.

@Kzang, thank you for the compliment. I'll do more write up later in the day. Lots I need to mentioned.

@Barbja, BMW original plan on the X5 was to compete in the off road SUV market, but then a lot of the BMW lovers are not ready for the stiffness and mostly used the truck on-road only. That's when BMW start designing the truck to be more for on-road use.
But, do try track the X6, it would be fun. It didn't feel so much like an SUV.

@Mattbianco, I am not close to be a Stig.
I could've been faster and better if I have better suspension setup and not holding myself from sliding around on the bank turn. My left knee still hurt from it.

Thank you again for the compliments. .

What suspension does your car have?

r33, I searched the forum but I was unable to find your car's build. What suspension does your X5 have?

Mine is the basic suspension since I picked up the car from the lot and I wasn't aware that M Sport package doesn't includes the active suspension.

Ah. Even still, I was impressed with how flat your X seemed to corner. I only saw the outside fender dive a few times.

I didn't push it hard enough, the fender dive you saw that's when I pushed it too hard. Almost off the track, which supposedly I shouldn't care since I am driving an SUV.
