Startup /// animation

How often is this animation supposed to come on. Mine is intermittent and unsure whether it is working as designed/intended, not that it makes any difference to the performance. Just being pedantic ... TYIA

yes that

It is absolutely normal, I found out about the randomness of the animation when I changed mine to a different one, and.... there was a disclaimer saying do not expect this to come on every time you start the car.

You are all good

It should come on after the car has had enough time to put the infotainment to sleep. Anywhere from 5-15 minutes in my experience.

That's strange. I've never not seen it on a cold start. There could be a difference between various versions of the firmware, too.

You never know when it will show up. Sometime on the iDrive, sometime on HUD ... random. I thought the same, that after a complete shutdown it will appear. But no. I have the latest integration F025-22-11-510 vs F025-16-11-503 (factory). This was done only a week ago.
