My 35D does this as well and I brought it in recently as a warranty claim. Of course, they could not reproduce which in dealer talk means they don't want to fix it. The SA stated that I need to make sure the car is fully stopped before letting off the brake pedal as if it was my first time. I explained to him that my prior X6M and X3 35i never had this problem and if anything they grabbed so strongly that it felt jerky at times. His response was to keep an eye on it and bring it back if it keeps happening. By the sound of things, it's likely a platform wide problem which BMW is failing to address.

I have a '15 50i and it has never lurched. I'm actually always surprised when I use a-hold because it seems so smooth.

Will lurch on me when it's cold out but not 6". It's more like the brakes slightly slip now and again. Nothing crazy and doesn't do it every time. When it does I just make sure I apply my foot as a back up.

Maybe try doing 1-3 hard stops to warm up the rotors and see if that makes a difference.

Nope. Got tired of the runaround and trips to the dealer. If I was going to keep the car past this summer I would keep trying, but it is getting traded when the M50i comes out.

Thank you for the reply.

I don't think it's a cold weather issue because I live in Western Australia and MY15 X5 (purchased brand new in January 2016) has the same problem even in the summer. The dealer could not reproduce the problem so the case is still open.

This is my second X5 and will be my BMW. So many issues with the vehicle
No Apple Carplay / Android Auto, No adaptive cruise control on a premium high end vehicle purchased in 2016 !

I have ACC. Did you not purchase the option? It doesn't come standard on almost any vehicle much less expensive ones.

I have 2015 X5 35d, same issue, auto-hold slips on and off. Sometimes it holds like a rock, sometimes it's just so annoying. Mine does it randomly, doesn't matter what weather it is outside. I've been to a dealer multiple times however they could't reproduce it and all that BS. I've shown them the video I recorded of the car doing that but it didn't convinced them. At this point, I'm still under warranty, I simply gave up...
