TortugaX5 PM Sent. Very bizarre. I recommend the USB be formatted as FAT32. Almost all are unless you have formatted it differently yourself.

Also, VIN input should produce and target the correct file to download.

I don't recall if in the past I unbundled the file or just let iDrive unzip it itself.

So after a few PM exchanges with MattBianco, we were able to determine the problem with my install was actually due to my X5 firmware being more current than what bmw.com/update was allowing me to download. My X5 is running the latest firmware (MN-003-003-01, TN-003-003-01)

I will post back with details if I experience issues again.

3. knocking in the right front shock - entire shock needs to be replaced, currently awaiting parts
4. sunroof grinding noise - rubber seal replaced by dealer
5. car would not shut off a couple of times but issue seems to have resolved itself
6. Hatch would not close itself at low (-10 C) temperature. After 10th attempt finally closed. Dealer looked and could not find any problems.
I see you had issues (#3) with knocking in one of your front shocks, my car is just 1000miles old and has this bad, very bad knocking coming from the front of the car (engine bay), my dealer says it comes from a bad calibrated valve that controls the rigidity of the engine mounts (via an electric frequency or something like it.....)

They "fixed" the valve settings and the problem still there, nothing new and the knocking is like anything happened, I'm not sure, I'm not a mechanic but the sound comes more from the front suspension and only when I drive in very bad shape streets, can't replicate the sound on a regular street...

Is the same problem you experienced? did your dealer fix the problem?
Any feedback will be appreciated!

I drove it from dealer center from 22 miles. And it is about 35 miles from dealer center to my home.

He said brand new car, so must be all under his ownership. Unless it was a "new" demo car with some mileage already in it. But what could possibly go wrong in such a low mileage vehicle?

Have you tried inflating tires to proper PSI and resetting TPMS? I had proper inflation on all tires and once got low tire pressure warning. It went away a couple days later. Really dumb.

Just maybe, the nail in his rear right tyre (or tire if you prefer) doesn't know it was a new car?

Yes, I tried. It does not go away. The other three tires are ok. But the rear right one drops 6 PSI per day. Just send the car to the service center to check, waiting for the inspection result...

If there's no nail in the tyre, it most likely is an improperly seated/torqued-down TPMS valve stem. PITA since it's your new car, but not the end of the world. You'll be back on the road in no time.

It is the problem of valve . They replaced it...cannot believe this can happen.

Very nice! Like I said, bad timing, but one under/over torquing event and a leak can happen. Glad you're back to good.

A buddy of mine's car right front drops 2-3 psi every day and he's been filling it up for months. Finally he's annoyed and take it in; turns out hairline crack on the rim. So thank goodness yours was only a valve.

As we pulled the new X6 into the garage for the first time, noticed a number of scratches on the interior poplar wood trim. May not have noticed in the daylight glare but the fluorescent lights made the scratches easy to see.

Before taking delivery of the car we asked the dealer not to wash the exterior as we were taking it directly to a detailer to have CQuartz Finest applied.

While I was worried about the dealer scratching the paint, I never imagined the wood trim would be scratched on a brand new car.

My wife takes it in Thursday to show them but what can they do? I suppose they could replace the trim but I’ve never seen things go back the same way once removed and replaced.

The dealer has been great to work with so far so I am optimistic they will find a resolution but come on!

If regular joes like us know how to carefully wash and clean a car, you think a dealers detail shop could routinely clean cars that easily exceed $100K without damage.

Just got a call from the dealer for an ECU update, weird that they want me to come in just for this at 2,500 miles. Anyone know what it's for?

The more I use the nav system in my 2016 X5, the more I dislike it. Main issue is lack of POI, or terribly outdated POI. I did a search for a store today, it showed me the location that they moved out of 7 years ago!!! Nice up to date maps!! My wife works at a home improvement store chain, they have 10 stores. The one she works at has been in existence for 20 years... it is not in the list. I think I am going to buy a $100 Garmin.. it works much better and has most all POI's. Sad that NAV system in a $60K vehicle can be beaten by a $100 unit.

Is the same problem you experienced? did your dealer fix the problem?
Any feedback will be appreciated!
They had to replace the entire strut as they could not isolate the problem. The replacement fixed the issue for me.
